icon Ringo Starr before his concert. Also in
attendence were members of The B52s; Actor Grant Alexander;
Gold Medalist Olymic Figure Skater Sarah Hughes; Peter

your invaluable time, talent and beauty to help raise
funds for Humane USA at the Ringo Starr Benefit at Radio
City Music Hall on July 29, 2003. Your participation contributed
to an extraordinary and successful evening. With deep
appreciation of your support, we hope you'll enjoy these
photos of you and your gorgeous entertainers and that
it will be a cherished reminder of this unique evening.
We're pleased to make you the first to know that Humane
USA has just been chosen by Forbes magazine and Grey Goose
as one of the top five charities out of 140 most deserving
of recognition for our past years achievements! We will
be formally honored at an awards ceremony December 9,
2003 in New York City.
Humane
USA is proud to be the electioneering arm of the animal
protection movement. We support candidates based on a
single criterion: their support for animal protection.
As candidates increasingly view animal protection voters
as an identifiable block, our movement gains significant
influence in the state legislatures and Congress. Since
our creation in 1999, Humane USA has already contributed
over $150,000 to animal friendly candidates at the state
and federal levels.
We've recently posted an analysis of the voting records
of the nine Democratic candidates for president and sent
each a questionnaire on their expected priorities and
positions if elected President. In addition, we will soon
make endorsements in the five state legislative races
that will occur in November of this year. Your contribution
to our work makes this possible.
